100% Merino Wool (French Arles Merino and Portuguese Black Merino)
50 g / 185 m
Ulysse is a wool yarn obtained from a blend of French white Arles Merinos (Provence) and Portuguese black Merinos (Alentejo Valley), raised with a concern for animal welfare and the valorization of their wool.
All stages of production of this yarn take place in a short supply chain (France and Portugal for sourcing, Belgium or Italy for washing, France for spinning and dyeing) with a constant desire for traceability and reducing environmental impact.
Ulysse is available in natural colors resulting from the blend of brown and white fleeces ("sel" (salt), "poivre blanc" (white pepper), "poivre et sel" (pepper and salt), and "poivre" (pepper)) and in a range of delicately variegated colors.
Made of two well-twisted plies, Ulysse is a light, soft, and delicately fluffy yarn, perfect for Fair Isle and colorwork, but also for knitting delicate cables or enhancing wonderfully rustic lace.
A 50-gram ball with 185 meters.
It is recommended to work with knitting needles and crochet hooks from 2.5 - 3.5 mm.
Gauge: 24 stitches and 38 rows with 3 mm needles / 22 stitches and 34 rows with 3.5 mm needles.
This yarn is not superwash treated.
We recommend washing the knitted fabric in warm water with suitable soap or detergent and letting it dry flat, avoiding rubbing or stretching it.
Please note that very dark or particularly saturated colors like "émeraude" are more likely to bleed during washing. If you intend to work them together with lighter colors, we recommend making a sample first.
If excess dye is detected in the water after the first wash, we recommend repeating the rinsing bath until it is clear.
