42% Baby Alpaca - 35% Mulberry Silk - 13% Extra Fine Merino - 10% Yak

50 g / 400 m

Grimorio is a super-precious yarn, with a base of the finest fibers and unique, rich colors. Baby alpaca, silk, merino wool, and yak come together to create light, warm, and shiny skeins, with which you can make garments that will make you feel like you're wrapped in a cloud of color.

50 gram skein and 400 meters.

It is recommended to work with 3 - 4 mm needles or a 4 mm crochet hook.

Gauge/tension: from 27 to 32 stitches = 10 cm.

Le Moire is a small yarn brand born from Marzia's passion for precious fibers, colors, and dyeing.

The name “Le Moire, the tread of destiny (il filo del destino)”,  is inspired by the goddesses in Greek mythology who were tasked with spinning the thread of life for every man, determining its length, and cutting it when his time of death arrived.

Like the Moirai,  Marzia gives color and life to her yarns:  she doesn't use supernatural powers, but acid dyes, hoping to bring joy and pleasure to those who use them to create unique garments.

She carefully selects all the bases: the fleece comes from farms that respect animal welfare and do not practice mulesing,  and the silk is Mulberry (mulberry silk), shiny and slippery, with very fine and linear filaments, prized and very resistant.

The entire dyeing process is done by hand  and each skein receives care and attention.

Since hand-dyed yarns are different from each other, even if from the same dye lot, it is advisable to alternate skeins to achieve a uniform effect in the finished work.

Marzia uses non-toxic acid dyes and food-grade citric acid, which helps the dye set into the fibers.

After dyeing, the wool is washed with a neutral, odorless soap to remove any traces of dye and rinsed until the water runs clear.

Care: hand wash in cold water.

It is normal that in some cases the yarn may release a little color during washing, especially if it is intense or dark colors. If you are working on multi-colored projects, it is advisable to use color-catcher sheets.

Always use a soap suitable for delicate wool garments, without fabric softener.

Wool in its wet state can stretch up to 50%. That’s why it’s important to remove as much water as possible using a towel; the garment will return to its size once dry.  Lay flat to dry.
