A gorgeous cap in colorwork: Ombré Diamonds Hat by Miranda Rijks
Are you looking for a project of great effect, but which does not take too long? Do you love colorwork and geometric patterns? "Ombré Diamonds Hat" by Miranda Rijks is the model for you!
Find the free English-language pattern on Ravelry at this link: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ombre-diamonds-cowl--hat It is really very simple, without great difficulties (apart from the usual attention to the colorwork design)... One caveat: there is a small error in the final part, which we have solved by working the last five rounds as follows:
Rnd 41: (k4, k2tog) to the end of the round
Rnd 42: (k3, k2tog) to the end of the round
Rnd 43: (k2, k2tog) to the end of the round
Rnd 44: (k1, k2tog) to the end of the round
Rnd 45: k2tog until the end of the lap
...then close as indicated and, if you like, make a nice pom pom!
The project calls for a Medium/Aran class yarn.
We have chosen the Canilla Rustica from dLana, which you can find in coils of rustic Merino sheep's wool from Castilla and Leon:
it is a 100% natural yarn, very "full-bodied", which will give your hat the right stability.
Despite its certain rusticity, which may also contain some vegetable residues, this wool transmits a pleasant sensation to the touch and exhibits excellent behavior with needles, especially with wooden ones. But above all... it is a magical wool! With washing (by hand, maximum 30 degrees) it does not get damaged, on the contrary: it acquires softness and becomes more and more beautiful!
It is also an ideal yarn for those who are just starting out in knitting or crochet and for those looking for a good value for money.
